Clarisse Alfonso, also known as solisse, is an illustrator and designer based in the Philippines.
She graduated from the University of the Philippines Baguio with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and now works from home for a boutique advertising agency.
Clarisse has made work for local brands, businesses, and publishers. She is also a member of Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK), the Philippines’ first and only organization of illustrators dedicated to children’s illustration.
In her art, solisse often draws inspiration from everyday objects and scenes that represent her memories, feelings, and childhood growing up in a quiet city in Nueva Ecija. She hopes that while she navigates the complexities of her own feelings through her illustrations, she finds an audience—and community—that finds familiarity and solace in her work.
